Introducing our newest content release, Family Picnic, an engaging new experience that invites students to explore what family means to them. Following the story, students are encouraged to reflect on the diversity of families and support networks worldwide, helping them build empathy while deepening their understanding of belonging, care and inclusion.
Family Picnic Explorable Scene
It’s Mei’s seventh birthday and your students are invited. In this immersive experience, students will explore a range of everyday, meaningful moments. From helping at the BBQ and playing games with friends to fishing by the lake and observing shared family interactions, students can compare their lived experiences with the characters they see in this scene.
The relationships within the environment are intentionally left open, encouraging students to interpret what they see in their own way and reflect on what family, belonging and community mean to them.

Supporting materials are available through the Teaching Framework and Student Notes are designed to help guide classroom delivery, including suggested activities, discussion prompts and practical guidance for use before, during and after exploring the experience.
