The Gunpowder Plot – Virtual Reality Teaching Resources

The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 was a failed attempt to blow up King James I of England and The Houses of Parliament. The main conspirator of the plot was Robert Catesby who worked together with Thomas Winter, Thomas Percy, John Wright and Guy Fawkes to plan this event.

Using Virtual Reality to Teach The Gunpowder Plot

Who was religious in this time? Why did a group of people want to remove the King from the throne? How were the main conspirators going to get rid of the King? These are just a few of the questions that children may usually struggle to get to grips with and imagine… but with virtual reality, they can truly immerse themselves in the topic.

ClassVR lets your students safely explore, understand, and experience The Gunpowder Plot in ways you never thought possible. Using our new and exciting explorable scene in Avanti’s World that’s now FREE for all ClassVR users, students can venture back to the 17th Century & experience what life was like for someone living in 1605 and learn about the complex religious ideologies that existed during this time, which underpinned this famous event.
